BUILD AFRICA POETRY
COMPETITION
We are pleased to announce the
results of the Build Africa (Excel for Charity) Poetry
Competition 2010.
This competition has raised a net
amount of £131.70 for the charity Build Africa.
This means that by the time the disbursals on this
competition are complete, Excel for Charity would have
raised a total of £418.47 for charity and paid out
£780.00 in prize money.
Third Prize winner is
Margaret Eddershaw writing from Greece with the poem
"Let Him Without Sin".
Second Prize winner is UK
poet Jeni Williams with "Because the Earth Opened."
and the winner of the First
Prize is...from Italy,
GABRIEL GRIFFIN-HALL with "A'
Freak Yer!"

CASE
Molly is a writer studying at
university in Bath and is an active performance
poet around the South West area. She won the
First Prize in the second Excel for Charity
Poetry Competition in aid of the Psychiatry
Research Trust. with
Night Shift on the
Dementia Floor.

ROGER
ELKIN
Won the first Excel for
Charity Poetry Competition which was in aid of
Diversity House with
Blue Hyacinths.
Elkin is a well-known name in
the poetry world. A former editor of Envoi and
author of several poetry books including
Points of Reference (1996), Blood
Brothers (2005), Rites of Passing
(2006) and No Laughing Matter (2007). He
lectures occasionally on modern poetry at
Barlaston Wedgwood College and has won many
international prizes. |
