DIVERSITY HOUSE (EXCEL FOR CHARITY)
POETRY COMPETITION 2009
ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT
The first Excel for Charity poetry
competition has been, in our estimation, a success. Entries
came in from as far away as India, China, Canada, Australia, the USA
and South Africa among other places.
The response to
the competition was very indeed very good. We tried out online as
well as standard postal entries and the combination proved quite
effective.
In total, after
Paypal service charges deductions, we realised a total of £201.90
from online entries and £375.00 from Postal Entries. Making a total
of £576.90
The Funds are
appropriated as follows:
-
Adjudicator’s Stipend. 10% of Net Entry Fees i.e.
£57.69
-
Diversity House (The charity supported by the
competition) – One Third of Net Entry Fees: £192.30
-
First Prize: £150.00
-
Second Prize: £75.00
-
Third Prize: £35.00
-
Competition Administration (Eastern Light EPM):
£66.91
We are now awaiting the report of the
competition judge due on the 5th of May. As soon as we receive it,
we shall then announce the competition winners and send their cash
prizes and Certificates of Achievement to them.
We say a big thank you to everyone who
has taken part in this competition. The part of the entry fees sent
to Diversity House will surely be of great help to them.
